چکیده

Odstránenie Cd, Zn, Pb a Cu sorpciou na vylúhovanom zvyšku z produkcie Ni A leaching resudue from the nickel production (LRNi), was used to study the removal of selected bivalent cations (Cd, Pb, Cu and Zn) from model aqueous solutions. Batch-type experiments have been performed in solutions with initial concentrations of heavy metals in the range of 20-400 mg.L and the adsorbent dosage 2 g.L. All adsorption experiments were carried out at ambient temperature (22+1°C) in orbital shaker. The experimental data were modeled with Langmuir and Freundlich isotherms. The relatively high uptake indicated that LRNi can adsorb considerable amounts of cadmium and zinc (maximum uptake capacity for cadmium: 25 mg/g at pH 7.2 and ca. 40 mg/g for zinc at pH 7). A significant uptake was also observed for copper and lead at pH 5.8 and 6 respectively, which was attributed to the precipitation of the respective insoluble hydroxides.

Survey of heavy metal (Copper, Iron, Lead, Cadmium, Zinc and Nickel) concentrations and their effects on the water quality of Anzali wetland

Anzali International wetland is one of the most valuable water resources as registered in Ramsar convention with an extent of about 150 km2 in the south Caspian Sea. This wetland, not only has ecological and biological importance for migratory birds and rare fish species, but also is used for farms to discharge into the Caspian Sea through this wetland. Therefore its pollution control is very ...

Removal of heavy metals (lead, cadmium, zinc, nickel and iron) from water by bio-ceramic absorbers of hydroxy-apatite microparticles

Heavy metals are highly poisonous in the environment, even in small quantities, and endanger certain species and all live beings. Current methods of removing heavy metals from aqueous media include chemical sequestration, ion exchange, surface absorption, membrane processes, oxidation and revival procedures which have high investment and exploitation costs. Hence, it is significantly necessary ...

Anion and cation leaching or desorption from activated carbons from municipal sludge and poultry manure as affected by pH.

The conversion of municipal sludge and poultry manure to activated carbon results in a significant ash fraction that contains several different anions and cations. The objectives of this study were to determine whether the select ions are released or leached from virgin carbon into the sorption medium at different pH values. Activated carbon was placed in solutions of pH 1, 5, or 7, and the lea...

Alternative solution purification in the

More than 80% of the world’s production of zinc from its concentrate is obtained by the roastleach-electrowin hydrometallurgical process. In the roast-leach process, very pure zinc sulphate solution must be prepared for zinc electrowinning, therefore, the purification process is one of the most important unit processes in zinc hydrometallurgy. The conventional methods for the zinc solution puri...
